Tino Time Again? Dom Out In Riderville?

CFL Football Riders Top Stories

One could argue that the work never ends for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

That most certainly was true today for the Green and White. Roughrider General Manager Brendan Taman in conversation with the Voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Rod Pedersen, confirmed that the team had indeed released veteran centre Dominic Picard.

Picard was due for a roster bonus at the turn of the calendar and the Riders opted to release the veteran with a renegotiated contract on the table. For Picard, he is said to be exploring his options with other clubs in the CFL and there is no timetable for him to make a decision.

Meantime, the Rider General Manager did confirm that they offered Quarterback Tino Sunseri a contract extension this morning. Sunseri is scheduled to become a free-agent next month and struggled when given the opportunity to start in place of the injured Darian Durant this season. That opportunity to be the starter ended when the Green and White turned to 41 year-old Kerry Joseph to quarterback the club.

Details of the deal were not released.
