The Blitz Is On In Saskatoon

The Blitz is on for the Friends of the Bowl in downtown Toon-Town today.

Morning commuters are invited to support the Field Goal Campaign with a hot cup of coffee from Tim Hortons Friday morning. Starting at 7:30am youth football players will be handing out coffee in exchange for donations in the round-about by 3rd Avenue and 19th Street.

The Friends of the Bowl Foundation is hosting the Bowl Blitz on Friday, May 16 from 9:00AM – 1:00PM at River Landing. This will be the largest event for the Bowl Field Goal Campaign.

Greg Yuel, Campaign Chair, along with Coaches Tom Sargent and Jeff Yausie will lead a pre-blitz pep rally at 9:00AM. Football players from Saskatoon Minor Football, Kinsmen Football, High School Football and the Hilltops will be in attendance. Following the pep rally, the players will blitz downtown Saskatoon and visit businesses to collect donations to the Campaign. The morning will wrap up with a BBQ sponsored by Prairie Meats from 11:30AM – 1:00PM.

I had the chance to speak with major donors James Yausie and Cora Weenk yesterday about their $2-million donation and today’s activities. You can here the conversation in its’ entirety here:|titles=Friends
