Roughriders Still Purr-fect!

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are heading into their bye week on a huge high after a 32-20 win in Hamilton on Saturday night.

Despite starting Quarterback Darian Durant unable to play, backup Drew Willy threw three first-half touchdown passes to pace the Riders to their fifth consecutive win to start the season.

Willy would end up completing 14-of-25 passes for 269 yards in front of 13,002 at Alumni Stadium on the University of Guelph campus. Willy’s favorite target was Superman. Slotback Geroy Simon, who was playing in just his second game of the season, had five catches for 125 yards and a TD — The Riders are now off until August 9th when they head to Calgary to take on the Stampeders.

Meantime Kory Sheets continued his early season roll. He ran for 140 yards, which was his CFL-record fifth straight 100-yard game to start the
season. He now has more than 700-yards on the ground through the opening five weeks of the season.

The Rider ‘D’ was also dominant recording 7 sacks and forcing 5 turnovers.

The team is completely off this week before returning to work after the long weekend.
