Raiders Swing Major Deal: I’m Not Joshin’ Ya

The Prince Albert Raiders have traded Josh Morrissey and Gage Quinney to the Kelowna Rockets for defenseman Jesse Lees, forward Austin Glover, and two WHL bantam draft picks – a 2nd round pick in 2016 and a 3rd round pick in 2017.

Jesse Lees was a first round draft pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft being selected 9th overall by the Kelowna Rockets. The 95-born Calgary native is a right-handed defenseman who has spent the past four seasons in Kelowna. Lees is 5’11, 182 pounds. “Jesse is a quality player in our league that will provide us with experience and depth on the backend for not only this year but next as well,” Bruno Campese Raider General Manager.

“With the loss of Hunter Warner and injury to Sawyer Lange, we feel this transaction will give us an opportunity to not only maintain our competitiveness this season but also as we move forward in the seasons to come,” added Campese. “Gage Quinney has played well over the past year and half with us and has developed into a good WHL player; we hope Gage continues in growth in Kelowna.”
“It’s never easy to trade a player like Josh. He has been an important part of our organization for the past four years, not only has he been a great team leader and contributor to our community but is one of the top defensemen in our franchise history. We would like to thank Josh and Gage for their commitment to the Raider organization and wish them all the best,” Bruno Campese, Raider General Manager.
