Racers To Fill-Up Before Green Flag Drops

The new racing season at Wyant Group Raceway is set to open on Saturday at the oval north of Saskatoon.

Saturday afternoon’s racing will see the Legends, Street stock, Mini Stock and Bandolero divisions all take to track on opening day.

The first green flag of the season will fly at 2pm.

Prior to the engines roaring a number of vehicles will be on display at Maaco on 51st Street in ToonTown on Friday. One of the greatest aspects, and perhaps most overlooked, is the amount of time and money that the racers put back into the community!.

While sponsorship is vital is for them to get on the track it’s also an opportunity to give back.

IMG_5838IMG_3259For example, ten year-old racer Ryley Schneider (pictured) of the Bandolero Division, in addition to working with AGI Insurance, and Burco Electric, has partnered with Autism to race awareness and funds for the group that has a personal connection for the driver.

So, on his car (pictured on the right) he will be selling Autism awareness puzzle pieces with proceeds being returned to the organization through their Autism Speaks capaign.

Your first chance to purchase them and support not only Autism but also Ryley’s quest for a championship is at a BBQ today from 11am – 1:30pm at Maaco at 651 51st Street in Sasaktoon.

On top of Ryley’s car a number of other vehicles will be on display as the racers and their crews gear up for tomorrow’s season opener.
