Looking For the Midas Touch At The CN

The Midas Classic Returns to the CN Curling Club

The 2015 edition of the Midas Classic senior men’s bonspiel returns to the CN Curling Club this weekend. Twelve of the top senior men’s teams in northern Saskatchewan will battle for over $5,000 in prize money, with the A event winner going home with the $1,500 top prize.

Midas on Circle Drive in Saskatoon is once again the title sponsor for CN’s annual senior men’s event. Mike Obrigewitch, owner of the Circle Drive Midas location and himself an avid curler says “The game brings me a great deal of enjoyment every year so supporting the game of curling in Saskatoon, to me, is a no-brainer. If I can offer provide support for an event like the Midas Classic senior men’s in addition to the assistance I also provide to the City’s Women’s Bonspiel, it allows groups like the CN Curling Club and Curl Saskatoon to continue to promote the game, and hopefully, get more people involved and playing.”

Play starts on Friday afternoon (November 20) with the first draw at 4:00 PM and another at 8:00 PM. Draws continue throughout the day Saturday, with the championship finals scheduled at 3:00 PM Sunday. All games will be held at the CN Curling Club. There is no admission charge.
