Labour Peace In The CFL

It would seem that the 2014 CFL season will proceed without any labour disruption.

Last night the CFL and the CFLPA announced that they had a working agreement.

Here’s the release from the league:

TORONTO — A tentative agreement has been reached between the Canadian Football League and the Canadian Football League Players’ Association on a new collective agreement.

It is pending ratification by a vote of the Players and the CFL’s Board of Governors, which will be scheduled as soon as possible.

Further details will not be made public until these votes have taken place.

Unfortunately, a number of players through social media showed a lot of displeasure mostly firing back against their own members.

With the agreement week one of the pre-season will kick-off Monday night in Winnipeg with the Blue Bombers hosting Toronto.

The Riders will open the preseason with their away/home game on Saturday as they take on the Ottawa REDBLACKS at Mosaic Stadium.
