Hilltops Hammer Huskies!

After a bitterly disappointing loss to Regina in week three the Saskatoon Hilltops got back on track with a 68-17 victory in Edmonton over the Huskies.

The Toppers scored early and often scoring 14 points in the first quarter and 28 on their way to the big win. The Toppers offence racked up 471 net yards in the first half alone, in building the big lead.

Saskatoon was lead on the ground by Wayndel Lewis. He carried the ball 16 times for 274 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, through the air Evan Turkington and Evan Kopchynski each hauled in a pair of passes while Chad Braun lead the way statistically as he made 6 receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown.

All told, the Hilltops racked up 622 yards in offence (359 on the ground and 282 through the air).

The win improves the Hilltops record to 2-and-2 tied for third in the Prairie Football Conference.

In other week five action the Regina Thunder topped the Edmonton Wildcats 35-14. With the win Regina moves into a tie with Winnipeg for tops in the PFC with a 3-and-1 record while the Wildcats record fell to 2-2.

Calgary and Winnipeg were on bye weeks.

Coming up in week 6 the Huskies and Wildcats will square off in an all-Edmonton affair on Saturday night. While on Sunday the Saskatoon Hilltops will take on the Colts in Calgary and Regina travels to Winnipeg.
