From the Playground To The Pros! Done In Style:

A few years back I had an intriguing conversation with Brian Guebert, then of Football Sask, about a program he was developing. Fortunately there was some small support that I could lend the program through and support that I could lend through Saskatchewan Roughrider broadcasts. The program was called: From the Playground to the Pros.

The premise was simple, all players that went on to play professional, college or junior football all started in the same place, on a playground or open field with their friends. At that time numerous athletes, coaches and administrators shared their love of the game and their passion for the sport not to mention their goal of having participants succeed on and off of the field.

Today that program has morphed into a camp that is being held this week, during the students Easter break, at the Sasktel Soccer Centre. In total 180 players will suit up in this camp that will feature professional players guiding them through the basics of the game. The list of coaches is extremely impressive. On the turf will be; Saskatchewan Roughrider Levi Steinhauer, Winnipeg Blue Bombers Patrick Neufeld, and Graig Newman, Keyon Raymond from the Calgary Stampeders not to mention numerous others. The camp is sure to provide a fun and an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

To check out the camp here is the schedule for the remainder of the week:
