An incredibly draining stretch has come to an end for Weyburn’s Graham DeLaet.

DeLaet started a three week stretch with a charity golf tournament in Saskatoon. Last week he was in Scotland for his first major, the British Open.

This week he returned to home soil to compete in the R-B-C Canadian Open in Oakville, Ontario. While, DeLaet won’t admit it the travel and the mental and emotional drain may have caught up to him. An average opening round where he shot even par but struggled mightily at times forced him to come to play today in order to make the cut.

Unfortunately, DeLaet shot a one-over 73 to finish at 1-over par for the tournament and above the cut line.

Meanwhile, Hunter Mahan sit atop the leader board. Mahan fired an 8-under 64 to take a two-stroke lead after two rounds at Glen Abbey.

Mike Weir is the top Canadian nine strokes off the pace.
