CFL Predictor: Week 15

CFL Football Top Stories

Week 14 was a perfect one for yours truly, even calling the semi-upset of Winnipeg by Hamilton. So a 4-for-4 week will push my season total to 33-and-20 overall.

I’m not resting on my laurels; Here are my thoughts on week 15 Canadian Football League action.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers (6-7 5th in West) LW: 16-11 loss vs. Hamilton
at
Ottawa REDBLACKS (1-11 4th in East) LW: 15-7 loss vs. Montreal

This game may have much more intrigue than one might expect. A loss for either club and it could be next year season as play-off football would most certainly be out of the question. Ottawa just can’t seem to find a way to get over the hump and into the win column while Winnipeg seems to be on the decline. That drop-off I think is going to continue this week. That’s why I’ll take Ottawa, in an upset, 17-10 over the Blue Bombers at home.

Calgary Stampeders (11-2 1st in West) LW: 14-7 win vs. B.C.
at
Saskatchewan Roughriders (9-4 T2nd in West) LW: 24-0 loss at Edmonton

Prior to the Darian Durant injury this game would have all of the makings of a show down for top spot in the west. Instead the Riders are limping home after their first shutout loss in more than two decades. The Stamps are back to shooting their mouth off which eventually ends in them shooting themselves in the foot. That self-inflicted wound won’t come into play this week though as the Stamps are going to take advantage of a rattled Riders team. Go with the Stamps to win at Mosaic 38-13.

Edmonton Eskimos (9-4 T2nd in West) LW: 24-0 win vs. Saskatchewan
at
Toronto Argonauts (4-8 3rd in East) LW: BYE

Two teams looking to make a statement hook up at Rogers Centre in this one. The Eskies want to prove that they are an elite team, if you had any doubts after their win over the Riders last week. Meanwhile, Toronto wants to start to get on a roll defensively and find a way to put it all together to make a play-off push. I like the Eskimos all round game but something tells me that the Argos coming off of a bye week will have a little extra jump in their stride. That’s why I will take the Boatmen to take the win in a wild one 38-28 over the Eskimos.

B.C. Lions (7-6 4th in West) LW: 14-7 loss at Calgary
at
Hamilton Tiger Cats LW: 16-11 win at Winnipeg

A battle of the Bengals will wrap up the week. The Leos are licking their wounds after getting beaten up on the scoreboard and in the trenches in Calgary last week. Hamilton continues to progress and get better with every passing week. That’s why I am taking the Ti-Cats to win a close one at home. Make the final Hamilton 17, B.C. 10.
