CFL Legends: Tom Wright

He didn’t really know what he was in for when he signed on as Commissioner of the Canadian Football League prior to the 2003 season.

However, what he did to stabilize the league should always be remembered.

Tom Wright took over a league where 1/4 of its’ teams filed for bankruptcy in the middle of the season. Come the end of the year he had saved both franchises and witnessed one of the greatest Grey Cup games ever in Regina.

All this despite the fact he envisioned himself as a phys-ed teacher.
