CFL Legends: Al Bruno

This season on the View From the Sidelines one of the focuses of our CFL Legends segment was the 25th Anniversary of the Saskatchewan Roughriders 1989 Grey Cup victory over the Hamilton Tiger Cats.

Our pursuit of some of the key personnel of the game lead us to then Hamilton Head Coach Al Bruno.

Bruno coached in the CFL from 1983-1990, appearing in three consecutive Grey Cups from 1984-1986. He would win the 1986 Grey Cup over the heavily favored Edmonton Eskimos.

His final appearance in a Grey Cup would be in 1989 when his Ti-Cats faced the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Bruno, passed away in his home last Sunday but he did share a few moments in what would turn out to be his last interview with us on the View From the Sidelines. You can hear our entire conversation below:
