Oct. 16, 2015 – Calgary 44 – Saskatchewan 15 (at Saskatoon)

Huskies OFFENSE: Points 4 (261) RUSH 3 (157.4 YPG) PASS 5 (277.0 YPG) OVERALL 5 (434.4 YPG)

The lone statistical category that the Huskie offence leads Canada West in is time of possession. That is key. The Saskatchewan offence is meticulous and can pick a defence a part. Content with what the opposition gives them is the name of the game for Scott Fory’s crew. In addition, the group is getting big plays at big times which has given them the edge on their opposition.

DINOS OFFENSE: Points 1 (294) RUSH 1 (195.9 YPG) PASS 4 (311.5 YPG) OVERALL 2 (507.4 YPG)

There may be a number of moving parts for the Dinos offense with a lot of banged up bodies along the offensive line and Quarterback Adam Sinagra only starting his 3rd CIS game. With that being said the sophomore out of Quebec has done a nice job in managing the game, no interceptions in his three starts. Meantime Bryce Harper has done a good job of running the ball and blocking out of his tailback spot. If Calgary can force the ball downfield they will win the battle.

UFC Coming To ToonTown

The UFC® makes its debut in the province of Saskatchewan on Sunday, August 23 at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon. UFC FIGHT NIGHT™: HOLLOWAY vs. OLIVEIRA will feature a five-round main event pitting two of the top featherweights as fifth-ranked MaxHolloway (13-3, fighting out of Waianae, Hawaii, USA) takes on seventh-ranked Charles Oliveira (20-4, 1NC, fighting out of Houston, Texas, USA by way of Sao Paulo, Brazil) in a bout that could determine the division’s next title contender. Tickets for UFC FIGHT NIGHT™: HOLLOWAY vs. OLIVEIRA go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 26 at 10 a.m. CT.

Currently riding an impressive six-fight win streak (including three knockouts and two submissions), Holloway has made the leap from touted prospect to dangerous contender. Meanwhile, victorious in his last four outings, Oliveira now sits at fourthplace for most submissions in UFC history with seven (mixed martial arts legend Royce Gracie still holds the record with 10). Not only are there potential title implications in this bout, but both Holloway and Oliveira are currently tied with Dustin Poirier and Chad Mendes for the most finishes in the UFC’s featherweight division. An emphatic victory for either competitor will establish a new benchmark for the weight class. With these two skilled finishers lined up, Saskatoon fans are in for an explosive main event.

CFL Predictor: Division Final Weekend

To be truthful even though I was 1-and-1 last weekend, to set my season record at 55-and-28, there were a ton of surprises.

I was shocked at the lackluster performance by the BC Lions in Montreal. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that the Alouettes would pile up 50 points on the Grey Cup hosts.
Meanwhile in Edmonton the upstart Eskimos played a patient and poised game en route to an upset, in my eyes, of the defending Grey Cup Champion Saskatchewan Roughriders. The surprise to me in that game was the inability of the Roughrider offence to move the ball on the ground or through the air.

With all of that being said what will Grey Cup Semi-Final have in store for us?

See what the predictor thinks below!

EAST DIVISION FINAL:

Montreal Alouettes: (9-9 2nd in East) LW: 50-17 win vs. B.C.
at
Hamilton Tiger Cats: (9-9 1st in East) LW: BYE

Head-To-Head:
Week 11 at Montreal: Montreal 38 – Hamilton 31
