The Auto Clearing Season So Far:

There was no racing this weekend as Auto Clearing Motor Speedway was a victim of the rain that has held the entire province hostage the last several days.  Friday’s race card featuring the Budget Street Stocks, the SKL Trailer Pro Trucks and Brock Salvage Thunder Stocks has been moved to Wednesday June 19 at 7:00 p.m.

This gives us a chance to look at points standings at this early juncture in the season

In the PartSource Mini Stock Division, the driving duo of Tristan Ransom and Dennis Beck with the #13 Saskatoon Sports Car Club BMW hold a 15 point lead over the #17 J + S Cabinets Honda Civic of Jared Reddekopp.

Racing Heats Up The Track At ACMS

The race teams spent Saturday watching the rain instead of turning laps at the Auto Clearing Motor Speedway.  The rain that continued to fall all day forced the opening of the Dakota Dunes Western Canada Super Late Model Series to Sunday afternoon.  The weatherman did not disappoint as the temperatures were a little on the cool side, but the sun was warm.

The delay did mean a few cars headed home to other commitments, leaving

16 cars for the Dakota Dunes opener.

Some unexpected results though as 16 year old Denver Foran from Edmonton started the afternoon off for the Dakota Dunes late models upsetting the veteran drivers as he timed in fastest with his #00 2013 Monte Carlo at

Back On The Track Today

The rain may have washed away the action on Saturday night at Auto Cleoaring Motor Speedway, however, the boys and gals that make the noise in Saskatoon will hit the track this afternoon.

The rain delayed fourth round will go in it’s entirty this afternoon starting at 2pm .

Due to compete:

All Set For Round Four At ACMS

Blazin’ Start To Saturday Night Racing

Interesting.  That is one way of describing the racing Saturday night at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway.  Although there was a reserved nervousness with so many rookies on the track, the racers kept it clean.  There was little fiberglass to clean up, but safety officials had to deal with three fires as the night went on.

The Big Bore Directional Drilling Super Trucks spent the afternoon feeling out the track and their new Hoosier tires as they make their first trip around the oval in 2013.  At the end of the two 45 minute practice sessions, times were pretty much predictable based on experience.  One stand out was Dexter Hucul, who made the jump from Legends to super trucks this year.  He was running mid–pack lap times in what he described as a tank to roll around the track compared to the legends car he drove the past few years.

Safety crews were forced into action as the first Sportsman practice was drawing to a close.  The #93  Burco Electrical Contractors Dodge Avenger of Neil Schneider burst into flames as it barrelled down the front straight, coming to a stop high in corner two with smoke pouring out of the engine compartment and cab.  A gasket had blown out of the oil cooler, spraying oil on the exhaust.  The resulting fire spread into the wiring harness, taking heavy smoke into the driver cabin.

First Time Under The Lights At ACMS

Round 3 of the season at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway will go tonight at 6pm at the track. It’s the first night of the season under the lights!

It’s also the first race of the season for the Super Trucks and the BIG BORE 100!

Also on the track will be the MidWest Combustion Sportsmans, the Earthworks Sask. Legends and the Budget Car and Truck Rental Street Stocks.

Races Beat Out The Weather For A Full Day At ACMS:

The weather gods shone down on the Auto Clearing Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon, allowing a full slate of racing to take place.  Radar showed
rain all around the track, but race officials were only worried once as
a light shower threatened one of the pro truck heat races.  The tires
were already warm though, allowing the race to finish and the shower had
passed by the time the mini stocks took to the track.

Saturday was the season opener for the WSSL Auto Parts Super Late Model
Division, which proved tough for a few drivers.  Brothers Ian and Kelly
Admiraal made the haul all the way from Edmonton, only to have rough
finishes.
