The Canadian Junior Football League and the Prairie Football Conference announced their players of the week tonight.

Saskatoon Hilltop running back Wayndel Lewis was singled out as was Regina’s Brandon Whitehouse on defence and Calgary return man Keiko Kelly.

Here is the full run down of this weeks players of the week.

Offensive Player Of the Week:

Running back – #22 Wayndel Lewis – Saskatoon Hilltops

The Saskatoon Hilltops moved into sole possession of first place in the PFC after blasting the Winnipeg Rifles 44-19 last weekend.  The Hilltops controlled the game with their running attack as the PFC Offensive Player of the Week Wayndel Lewis rushed 26 times for 174 yards and had a pair of touchdowns.  This is the third time this season the Warman Saskatchewan native has won this honour.

Linebacker – #48 Brandon Whitehouse – Regina Thunder

The Regina Thunder played to the only tie in the PFC this season.  The Defensive Player of the Week, linebacker Brandon Whitehouse was outstanding, recording a game high nine solo tackles and the only two sacks the Thunder tallied.

Returner – #13 Keiko Kelly – Calgary Colts

The Calgary Colts have won two straight games for the first time since 2012 thanks to a blowout win in Edmonton last week.  The play of the game, maybe the year, came from the Special Teams Player of the Week, returner Keiko Kelly.  Following a missed field goal, Kelly returned the kick 120 yards for a touchdown, sealing the win for the Colts.  He also had two other punt returns, totally 15 yards.
