Rush Swap Sniper For Picks

Saskatchewan Rush general manager Derek Keenan announced a trade today between his team and the Toronto Rock that sends forward Adam Jones to the Rock in exchange for a first round draft pick in both the 2018 and 2019 NLL Draft.

With NLL expansion on the horizon, the trade will bolster the Rush’s focus on the future, with three first round draft picks in 2018 and 2019 NLL Draft. Additionally, the Rush hold the 8th selection in the first round at the upcoming 2017 NLL Draft set for September 18th at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. Fans can watch the draft live on as the league welcomes its newest crop of rookies ahead of the 2018 season.

“Decisions to move quality players out of the Rush organization are never easy. Trading Adam Jones is difficult. He’s a great person who fit in like family on and off the floor. He performed at a high level for us, especially in the playoffs. He’s also a quality young man. Hard to say good bye. However we are always looking for long term stability and maintaining a championship caliber team for the long term. This trade gives our team three first round draft picks in both the 2018 and 2019 NLL Draft. It appears NLL expansion is imminent. This makes the picks potentially even more important.” – Head Coach  and GM Derek Keenan
